In the field of flowers
a distant memory of summer
a photo from my mother
a gift from the future
from the southern hemisphere
the pure joy of flowers
their colors light up
under the cloudy day
the warmth of weather
allows them to stay
a delight I admire
a pure warmth of
my soul as snow
falls out my window
in the present.
