The dog burrows himself into the snow. This is his definition of heaven, loving every second of creating new paths in the backyard that will melt by the weekend. A robin moves from one unstable branch to the next, trying to withstand the 45 mph winds. Ice gets blown on to the window, creating uniqueContinue reading “Observations During A Blizzard”

Night Thoughts
The moon shines in through my window. Lighting up a spot on the floor, Reminds me of an Edward Hopper painting. I wake from my sleep to let my cat in once more. My room is a safe space from the visiting dogs who do not understand why the cat doesn’t want to play. HeContinue reading “Night Thoughts”
Light & Quiet
When snow blankets the earth, life quiets. Stepping outside feels like the volume You never notice has been turned down. The only sound you hear is your steps Making a path that will melt When it meets the sun. The night brings light to the darkness When the full moon bounces off the snow, ItContinue reading “Light & Quiet”
Disappeared
It’s clear to me that seasons no longer exist. They only exist as dates on a calendar, marking the passage of time. The rest has faded away to a time and place the planet no longer knows. We’ve had at least five major snow storms in the last two months. It’s autumn, where leaves areContinue reading “Disappeared”

Other times, like today, it lingers for hours, teasing its arrival while never actually making its way to the plains.

When things bad things happen supporters will rally around you. When freedom of speech is tested the people will fight back by calling out the wrongs.Continue reading “When Lies Become Truth, Keep Calling out the Lie”
Meeting in the Middle
As many people have stated, we’re living in difficult times. There seems to be a shooting more often than not and nothing is being done to stop these vile people from carrying out these terrible attacks. I was overhearing what was happening on the news the other day since I don’t watch it anymore, andContinue reading “Meeting in the Middle”
Stumbles in Speech
I am a person who stutters. I’ve stuttered my entire life. I’ve been in speech therapy. I’ve taken medication to help reduce my stutter. I’ve lied to myself, saying that I don’t have a stutter. My stutter hasn’t gone away. I’m now 25 and I still stutter. Some people grow out of their stutter. I’mContinue reading “Stumbles in Speech”
Believe Women & Believe Survivors
I’ve been trying to think about how to write this post all day. Last week, this country went through a roller coaster of emotions with the Senate Hearings. Watching Dr. Ford give her testimony and answer questions was emotional for me and many women around the country. She’s an amazing woman for being brave andContinue reading “Believe Women & Believe Survivors”
